Develop, Migrate and Monitor with VoiceObjects Desktop
With VoiceObjects, customers have choices for their service creation environment (SCE). Applications can be developed using VoiceObjects Desktop, a graphical development environment for creating, testing, deploying and monitoring phone self-service applications. Or, in support of VoiceObjects’ open tools strategy, developers can choose to use any third-party integrated development environment (IDE) with VoiceObjects XDK.
VoiceObjects Desktop also offers choice with two editions: the rich client VoiceObjects Desktop for Eclipse based on the leading open-source IDE, and a thin-client, web-based version, VoiceObjects Desktop for Web.
Also available is a special packaging of Desktop for Eclipse with the VoiceObjects Developer Edition, a free, downloadable version accessible from the VoiceObjects developer portal. All editions enable business-process-oriented application development and management, ensuring collaborative team development and synchronizing projects, users and roles.
Maintenance, migration and design-from-scratch prompt management features enables faster, less tedious prompt design for new voice projects and speeds up the migration of legacy IVR applications, cutting both prompt migration and new development time in half. Real customer experience indicates development teams are two to ten times increase in productivity gains than with alternative hand-coding or other development environments.
VoiceObjects Desktop
VoiceObjects Desktop is the easy-to-use graphical user interface for creating, testing, deploying and monitoring voice, video, text and mobile Web self-service applications delivered over phone and mobile devices.
Key components and features include:
- Control Center
Control Center is a graphical, integrated management console enabling the deployment, management, and monitoring of servers and services.
- Dialog Designer
Dialog Designer is the main work area for designing and developing applications. Dialog flows of objects are displayed in a tree structure and can be modified as needed within this graphical environment.
- Storyboard Manager
Storyboard Manager is a voice user interface designer tool for creating and managing new voice prompts and enabling faster migration of existing prompts when moving legacy IVR applications to new VoiceXML platforms. Storyboard Manager supports application development collaboration, cuts both prompt migration and new development time in half, and comes in handy particularly in larger projects, which might have hundreds or thousands of prompts where it’s crucial to keep an overview of all prompts and audio files.
- One-Button Documentation
Developers who spend valuable time and effort documenting their applications appreciate the one-button documentation feature in VoiceObjects Desktop. Developers simply select the application or portion of the application they wish to document and an Adobe PDF™ file is automatically generated to share with other developers or user groups.
Open to 3rd-Party Service Creation
VoiceObjects XDK is the XML-based development interface to VoiceObjects Server that can be used through any third-party IDE. VoiceObjects XDK enables developers to use the IDE of their choice to easily build high-quality applications, and to seamlessly deploy, monitor, analyze and maintain them on a phone application server. Today SAP’s Visual Composer and SpeechVillage are certified as compatible development environments with VoiceObjects.
