Service Creation Choices with VoiceObjects

Develop, Migrate, and Monitor with VoiceObjects Desktop

VoiceObjects Desktop is an easy-to-use, GUI-based application for creating, testing, deploying, and monitoring self-service phone portals that use voice, video, text, and mobile Web channels. VoiceObjects Desktop enables business-process-oriented application development and management, ensuring collaborative team development and synchronizing projects, users, and roles.

There are two editions: VoiceObjects Desktop for Eclipse, a rich-client application that is based on the world’s leading open source IDE, and VoiceObjects Desktop for Web, a thin-client, Web-based version. In addition, VoiceObjects Desktop for Eclipse is now available for free download in the VoiceObjects developer portal.

VoiceObjects Desktop Components

  • Dialog Designer
Dialog Designer is the main work area for designing and developing applications. Dialog flows of objects are displayed in a tree structure and can be modified as needed within this graphical environment.

  • Storyboard Manager
Storyboard Manager is a voice user interface design tool for creating and managing new voice prompts and for quickly migrating existing prompts from legacy IVR applications to new VoiceXML platforms.

  • Control Center
Control Center is a graphical, integrated management console for deploying, managing, and monitoring servers and services.

  • Testing
Phone simulator, dialog debugging and tracing to efficiently test and debug applications on all channels

  • Documentation Creator
Documentation Creator automatically generates Adobe PDF™ files to share with other developers or user groups.

Features

  • Service creation for business analysts
Both technical and non-technical staff can use VoiceObjects Desktop to create and maintain business-critical communication services.

  • Integrated management console for real-time monitoring
VoiceObjects Desktop Control Center delivers central, live monitoring and management of services and servers.

  • Object-oriented approach with integrated best practices
Integrated best practices ensure excellent service quality and caller acceptance. Projects are completed faster with form-filling object modeling rather than traditional coding.

  • Integrated Phone Simulator
An integrated Phone Simulator can be used to test, debug, and demonstrate voice and mobile Web applications and to guarantee correct VoiceXML syntax.

  • Automatic documentation creation
Automatic documentation generation (graphical call flow and object parameterization); Storyboard Manager automatically documents prompts (Audio, Video, TTS); no manual maintenance of documentation is necessary.

  • Easy and flexible tuning
Tuning is supported by call tracing and logging/reporting, which delivers an application-centric view of recognition results, and support for utterance recordings (granular activation, volume control).

  • Open to 3rd-Party Service Creation
VoiceObjects XDK is the XML-based development interface to VoiceObjects Server that can be used through any third-party IDE. VoiceObjects XDK enables developers to use the IDE of their choice to easily build high-quality applications, and to seamlessly deploy, monitor, analyze and maintain them on a phone application server. Today SAP’s Visual Composer and SpeechVillage are certified as compatible development environments with VoiceObjects.

  • Efficient migration utility
Storyboard manager enables a 50% or more faster migration path from proprietary IVR systems to VoiceObjects.
