San Mateo and Bergisch Gladbach, January 12, 2006: VoiceObjects today announced that its Voice Application Management Systems (VAMS) VoiceObjects X5 has been selected by Alcatel for its Voice & Multimedia Browser solution (VMB) for mobile networks. Alcatel VMB is the entry door to all voice and video services proposed by mobile operators. VoiceObjects X5, which is equally suited to voice and multimedia applications, makes handling mobile multimedia services user friendly with voice or mobile phone keypad commands.
VoiceObjects X5 serves as the key component for setting up, operating, maintaining, and analyzing applications to operate multimedia and interactive content. Ordering, paying, and invoicing are seamlessly combined.
"VoiceObjects X5 is very well suited to accessing different types of media over the telephone, leveraging standard VoiceXML, and dialog control can be executed by voice or keypad. VoiceObjects X5 thus represents the first platform for developing and operating pure voice applications, video-based applications, and even combined voice and video applications," explained Christian Dugast, VP Business Development for VoiceObjects. "Our platform enables the design of user-friendly multimedia applications which can be handled by both voice and keypad and also allows connections for video messaging. Callers will be able to use simple voice commands or an animated video to navigate contents for accessing video-on-demand or broadcasting portals to watch movies or sports events on their mobile devices. The Alcatel Voice & Multimedia Browser solution equipped with our VoiceObjects X5 enables users to navigate between numerous services simply by using voice or pressing a digit on the keypad."
“Alcatel’s Multimedia platforms enable to launch new voices and video services such as live webcam, video on demand, video mailbox or any voice XML application which generate a new revenue stream for mobile operators and a means of entertainment for end users. Using VoiceObjects X5 VAMS framework within our VMB will enable our customers to develop and deploy cost efficient and user-friendly multimedia applications, providing end-users with fast and easy navigation solutions," added Patrick Frene, VP, Alcatel 3G Reality Centre Partner’s Ecosystem.
