Cologne, Germany and Boston, MA, November 02, 2004 – VoiceObjects, the leader in Voice Application Management Systems, today announced that a voice application created by Softlab using VoiceObjects Factory won Germany’s Voice Initiative VoiceDay 2004 Voice Contest and that T-Mobile infotainment voice portal, which was also created using VoiceObjects Factory, received the Voice Initiative VoiceDay 2004 “Best Business Model” award.
Voice Contest Winner
Softlab, an IT service provider, won the Voice Initiative VoiceDay 2004 Voice Contest using VoiceObjects Factory. The Voice Contest required the nine competing teams to design, develop and deploy in four days a voice portal for a motor vehicle registration office. The winner was chosen by the VoiceDay 2004 attendees. Softlab’s winning entry featured an unconventional but entertaining interaction between the caller and two personae created using VoiceObjects Factory.
“The VoiceDay Voice Contest is the perfect showcase for VoiceObjects Factory’s ability to rapidly create extraordinary applications,” said Tiemo Winterkamp, VoiceObjects’ Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Market Research. “Softlab’s winning entry demonstrates the superiority of the VoiceObjects approach, which guarantees best-practices performance and separates application design from speech technology implementation.”
Best Business Model
T-Mobile was presented with the VoiceDay 2004 “Best Business Model” award for its mobile infotainment voice portal. The portal was created using VoiceObjects Factory and is operated jointly by VoiceObjects and its partner, net-mobile, on a voice ASP model. In presenting the award to T-Mobile, the jury praised the portal’s appealing design and the use of earcons to help users navigate the service.
“Combining VoiceObjects to create applications naturally leads to excellent design,” said Winterkamp. “We’re pleased that the jury particularly appreciated this aspect of the T-Mobile portal.”
