VoiceObjects AG showing a platform for new services via the telephone

Hannover March 11, 2003 – VoiceObjects AG, vendor of an open platform for the simple development and cost-effective operation of voice applications, is exhibiting the latest version of its VoiceObjects Factory software at this year‘s CeBIT. Visitors who are interested can find information on the latest developments in the field of “voice applications of the next generation” at the IBM partners booth in hall 4, demo-point C10.

Cooperation between VoiceObjects and IBM
VoiceObjects and IBM are working closely together on the development of commercial voice solutions on the basis of the WebSphere E-Business software platform from IBM. The aim of this cooperation is to dramatically simplify and accelerate the introduction of voice-based information, transaction and entertainment services via (mobile) telephones. The first concrete examples for voice business applications are being exhibited at CeBIT.

VoiceObjects Factory has been incorporated into the IBM WebSphere Voice Middleware since the middle of 2002. The VoiceObjects Server, the central constituent of VoiceObjects Factory, controls the process logic for the WebSphere Voice Server and ensures that there is a smooth and efficient interaction of the various voice technologies and backend technologies. VoiceXML is used as the dialog language.

Open platform for voice-based services of the next generation
VoiceObjects AG is the sole vendor worldwide offering a so-called Open Voice Application Platform (OVAP). This simplifies the development and operation of voice applications of the next generation by bringing together the various basic technologies such as automated voice recognition (ASR), voice synthesis (TTS), and database integration through the use of standards such as VoiceXML, SALT, Java and RDBMS. Thus voice applications can be integrated into existing infrastructures and also created, installed and maintained quickly while cutting costs and increasing productivity.

VoiceObjects Factory
The concept of VoiceObjects Factory is based on the dynamic generation of speech dialogs from objects – the so-called VoiceObjects. Based on the Lego principle, VoiceObjects can be put together in the form of modules with the aid of the built-in tools to form interactive dialogs of any desired degree of complexity, all without any complicated programming. This vendor-independent software supports current standards such as VoiceXML or SALT. VoiceObjects Factory consists of VoiceObjects Server to run the dialogs and VoiceObjects Desktop for use in design and development. The software is available for the Apache Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, Caucho Resin and JBoss Web application servers and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
