In the final quarter of 2006, the VoiceObjects team continued to focus on changing the face of customer self-service. It’s our aim to meet the demands of a new generation of highly mobile consumers who are using their phones in sophisticated ways and expect an individualized, interactive experience when calling a company’s phone portal – just like they experience when using a company’s Web portal. In this last quarter, we strengthened our company to take advantage of worldwide market opportunities for phone application servers and I’m pleased to share VoiceObjects achievements in customer acquisition, new product releases, and partnership development.

New Customers Highlights: An Internet Bank, Telecom Giant & Consulting Services Leader
Improved customer care is essential to businesses that want to meet the needs of new consumers. And with greater frequency, these new consumers are turning to their mobile phone as the way they want and expect to get valued services. In the highly competitive banking business, for example, our new customer Egg.com has established the world’s first and largest Internet-only bank. Its customers are looking for valuable services available anywhere, anytime, at a modest price. The mobile phone represents the convergence of the bank’s Web and phone service-delivery models and is rapidly emerging as the preferred “branch” for Egg.com’s 3 million customers. VoiceObjects technology will help Egg.com develop and manage rich, personalized multi-modal phone banking applications that can yield high customer satisfaction and fit perfectly with the needs of the Mobile Phone Generation.

In the case of Swisscom Fixnet, Switzerland’s largest telecommunications carrier and a fixed-network market leader, the customer contact center must handle inquiries that come from more than 3 million customers. Swisscom Fixnet will install VoiceObjects products on 90 ports, with expansion planned for another 90. In addition to the customer care improvements their enhanced voice portals can drive, both Egg.com and Swisscom Fixnet can look forward to savings in their behind-the-scenes operations, because VoiceObjects supports improved application management, scaled applications to field an unlimited number of calls, and smooth back-end integration to leverage IT resources and cut maintenance time significantly.

With over 2000 consultants in 47 countries, the Hay Group is another new customer that has built a formidable reputation and consulting portfolio thousands of clients strong. The company’s broad and deep research helps provide actionable insights to its consultants and clients. Hay Group is using our technology to conduct phone surveys, already a proven data-gathering method, in an even more cost-effective manner.

New Products: VoiceObjects XML Developer Kit
Companies have long found the move toward open standards compelling for cost effectiveness and development dynamism. VoiceObjects is strongly committed to leveraging this trend, as recently demonstrated by the public release of VoiceObjects XDK, an XML development kit that helps tools vendors to create VoiceObjects-ready tools and comes at no additional charge with the Server. Third-party companies such as SAP and SpeechVillage are now creating IDEs for use with VoiceObjects Server.

Strategic Partnerships: VoxTiger
We at VoiceObjects want to break down barriers to developing and testing enterprise-class phone applications and thus help many companies experience the tremendous benefits of our server. VoiceObjects is therefore excited to partner with VoxTiger, a provider of online phone application development services. Together, our companies have launched an on-demand phone application development environment, which allows novice and expert developers to create sophisticated phone applications that run on VoiceObjects Server at a fraction of the cost usually associated with development.

Awards & Recognition
Finally, I’m pleased to note that VoiceObjects founder and chief strategy officer Karl-Heinz Land has been selected as a finalist in the "Entrepreneur of the Year" category of the inaugural European Business Awards. The European Business Awards recognize and celebrate business excellence in the twenty-five territories of the European Union. Winners in each category will be announced shortly.
